Amr bin Nafi’ divorced his wife and claimed that he had not touched her. The woman disagreed. The matter was brought before Hazrat Shurayh (may Allah have mercy on him). Hazrat Shurayh took an oath from Amr and ruled half the dowry in favor of the woman.

Hazrat Shurayh Qadhi (may Allah have mercy on him) gave the same verdict.

Amr bin Nafi' married Sayyidah bint Yahya bin Al-Jazzar and then divorced her, and he claimed that he had not touched his wife. Hazrat Shurayh, may Allah have mercy on him, took an oath and ruled half the dowry in favor of the woman.

Hazrat Shurayh (may Allah have mercy on him) said to the woman: "I do not accept your statement in your own favor, and I consider you suspect regarding yourself." And he said: "The waiting period (iddah) is obligatory upon you, and do not marry until you have completed the waiting period."

It is narrated from Ibrahim Nakha'i (may Allah have mercy on him) that a man married, and his wife said: He would spend the night with me but the clothes would remain as they were. Ibrahim said: "The woman is obliged to observe 'iddah and her dowry is also due. Do you not see that if a woman claims pregnancy, she is also believed?"

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that if a man brings a woman into his marriage and then divorces her and claims that he did not touch her, then half of the dowry will be obligatory upon him.
