Chapter on Acts of Obedience and Their Rewards – One must not rely on destiny alone but fulfill obligations and avoid prohibitions.
Hadith Number: 336
اخبرنا عبد الله بن محمد بن سلم ببيت المقدس، قال: حدثنا حرملة بن يحيى ، قال: حدثنا ابن وهب ، قال: اخبرني عمرو بن الحارث ، عن ابي الزبير ، عن جابر انه، قال: قلت: يا رسول الله، انعمل لامر قد فرغ منه، ام لامر ناتنفه؟ قال:" لامر قد فرغ منه"، قال: ففيم العمل إذا؟ فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " كل عامل ميسر لعمله" .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Do we act regarding a matter that has already been decreed, or regarding a matter that is newly occurring?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is a situation that has already been decreed." So Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: "Then why should one act?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "For every doer, his specific action has been made easy."
