باب حق الوالدين - ذكر استحباب طلاق المرء امرأته بأمر أبيه إذا لم يفسد ذلك عليه دينه ولا كان فيه قطيعة رحم
Chapter on Parents’ Rights – It is recommended to divorce one’s wife at the father’s command if it does not harm religion or family ties.
Hadith Number: 426
اخبرنا الحسن بن سفيان ، قال: حدثنا المقدمي ، قال: حدثنا يحيى القطان ، وعمر بن علي ، عن ابن ابي ذئب ، عن خاله الحارث بن عبد الرحمن ، عن حمزة بن عبد الله بن عمر ، قال تزوج ابي امراة وكرهها عمر، فامره بطلاقها فذكر ذلك للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقال" اطع اباك" .
Hamzah bin Abdullah narrates: My father married a woman. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) did not like that woman. He instructed Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) to divorce that woman. He mentioned this matter to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Obey your father.
