فصل من البر والإحسان - ذكر الإخبار بأن على المرء تعقيب الإساءة بالإحسان ما قدر عليه في أسبابه
Section on Righteousness and Kindness – Information that one should respond to harm with kindness as much as possible
Hadith Number: 524
اخبرنا محمد بن الحسن بن قتيبة ، قال: حدثنا يزيد بن موهب ، قال: حدثنا ابن وهب ، عن حرملة بن عمران التجيبي ، ان سعيد بن ابي سعيد المقبري حدثه، عن ابيه ، عن عبد الله بن عمرو بن العاص ، ان معاذ بن جبل ، اراد سفرا، فقال: يا نبي الله اوصني، قال: " اعبد الله لا تشرك به شيئا"، قال: يا نبي الله زدني، قال:" إذا اسات، فاحسن"، قال: يا رسول الله زدني، قال:" استقم وليحسن خلقك".
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) intended to go on a journey. He said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Please advise me. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Worship Allah, the Exalted, and do not associate anyone with Him. He said: O Messenger of Allah! Give me more. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If you do evil, then do good as well. He said: O Messenger of Allah! Give me more. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Remain steadfast and your character should be good.
