Chapter on the Description of Prayer - Report refuting those who claim that supplicating in prayers with things not in the Quran invalidates the prayer
Hadith Number: 1977
اخبرنا عبد الله بن محمد ، قال: حدثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم ، قال: اخبرنا هاشم بن القاسم ، قال: حدثنا عبد العزيز بن عبد الله بن ابي سلمة ، عن عمه الماجشون ، عن الاعرج ، عن عبيد الله بن ابي رافع ، عن علي رضوان الله عليه، قال: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، إذا سجد قال:" اللهم لك سجدت، وبك آمنت، ولك اسلمت، سجد وجهي للذي خلقه وصوره فاحسن صوره، وشق سمعه وبصره، فتبارك الله احسن الخالقين" .
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Whenever the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) went into prostration, he used to recite: "O Allah! I have prostrated for You, I have believed in You, and I have submitted to You. My face has prostrated before the One Who created it, fashioned it, and gave it a beautiful form, Who granted it hearing and sight. So blessed is Allah, the Best of creators."
