Section on Women’s Travel - Description of the mahram required for a woman’s travel
Hadith Number: 2719
اخبرنا الحسن بن سفيان ، قال: حدثنا ابو بكر بن ابي شيبة ، قال: حدثنا وكيع ، عن الاعمش ، عن ابي صالح ، عن ابي سعيد الخدري ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " لا تسافر المراة سفرا يكون ثلاثة ايام فصاعدا إلا مع ابيها او ابنها او اخيها او زوجها، او ذي محرم" .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No woman should undertake a journey of three days or more except that she is accompanied by her father, or her son, or her brother, or her husband, or a close male relative (mahram)."
