كِتَابُ الجَنَائِزِ وَمَا يَتَعَلَّقُ بِهَا مُقَدَّمًا أَوْ مُؤَخَّرًا

فصل في الصلاة على الجنازة - ذكر البيان بأن المصطفى صلى الله عليه وسلم نعى إلى الناس النجاشي في اليوم الذي توفي فيه
Section on the funeral prayer – Clarifying that the Prophet announced Najashi’s death on the day he died
Hadith Number: 3101
اخبرنا ابن قتيبة ، حدثنا حرملة ، حدثنا ابن وهب ، اخبرنا يونس ، عن ابن شهاب ، عن سعيد بن المسيب ، وابي سلمة ، عن ابي هريرة ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، نعى النجاشي يوم توفي، وقال:" استغفروا لاخيكم"، ثم خرج بالناس إلى المصلى، فصفوا وراءه، وكبر اربع تكبيرات .
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) informed about the death of Najashi on the very day he passed away. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Pray for forgiveness for your brother. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) took the people to the Eid ground, formed rows behind him, and said four takbirs.

اخبرنا عبد الله بن محمد بن سلم ، حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن إبراهيم ، حدثنا الوليد بن مسلم ، حدثنا الاوزاعي ، حدثني يحيى بن ابي كثير ، حدثني ابو قلابة ، عن عمه ، عن عمران بن حصين ، قال:" انبانا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، ان اخاكم النجاشي توفي، فقوموا فصلوا عليه، فقام رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، وصفوا خلفه، وكبر اربعا وهم لا يظنون إلا ان جنازته بين يديه" .
Sayyiduna Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) informed us, "Your brother Najashi has passed away. Stand up and offer his funeral prayer." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up, arranged rows behind him, and said four takbirs. People thought as if his body was present in front of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
