Hadith Number: 3132
اخبرنا عمران بن موسى بن مجاشع ، قال: حدثنا هدبة بن خالد ، قال: حدثنا حماد بن سلمة ، عن ثابت البناني ، عن انس بن مالك ، ان عمر لما طعن عولت عليه حفصة، فقال لها عمر: يا حفصة ، اما سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول:" إن المعول عليه يعذب"؟ فقالت: بلى .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was wounded, Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) wailed over him, so Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said to her: O Hafsah! Did you not hear the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say that the one over whom wailing is done will be punished? So Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) replied: Yes.
