Chapter: Marital relations – Forbidding seeking out the faults or betrayals of one’s family
Hadith Number: 4182
اخبرنا ابو يعلى ، قال: حدثنا ابو خيثمة ، قال: حدثنا وكيع ، عن سفيان ، عن محارب بن دثار ، عن جابر ، قال:" نهى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ان يطرق المرء اهله ليلا، او يخونهم ويلتمس عثراتهم" .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reports: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade that (after a long absence on a journey) a person should go to his wife at night, or seek to find out his wife's betrayal (i.e., spy on her), or search into her hidden matters.
