باب الخروج وكيفية الجهاد - ذكر الإخبار عن جواز تخلف الإمام عن السرية إذا خرجت في سبيل الله جل وعلا-
Chapter on Setting Out and the Manner of Jihad – On the permissibility for the leader to stay behind when a detachment goes out in God’s cause.
Hadith Number: 4736
اخبرنا الحسين بن إدريس الانصاري ، قال: اخبرنا احمد بن ابي بكر ، عن مالك ، عن يحيى بن سعيد ، عن ابي صالح السمان ، عن ابي هريرة ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: " لولا ان اشق على امتي، لاحببت ان لا اتخلف خلف سرية تخرج في سبيل الله، ولكن لا اجد ما احملهم، ولا يجدون ما يتحملون عليه، ويشق عليهم ان يتخلفوا بعدي، ووددت اني اقاتل في سبيل الله فاقتل، ثم احيا، فاقتل، ثم احيا فاقتل" .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates: The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If I did not fear that I would put my ummah into hardship, I would have liked that I never stay behind from any expedition that sets out in the way of Allah. But I do not have mounts to provide for them, and they also do not have mounts, and they do not like to stay behind from me. My wish is that I am martyred in the way of Allah, then brought back to life, then martyred again, then brought back to life, then martyred again."
