Chapter on Spoils of War and Their Distribution – On the report refuting the claim that Al-Layth ibn Sa’d did not hear this report from Ibn Abi Mulaykah.
Hadith Number: 4818
اخبرنا الحسن بن سفيان ، قال: حدثنا حبان بن موسى ، قال: اخبرنا عبد الله ، قال: اخبرنا ليث بن سعد ، قال: اخبرني ابن ابي مليكة ، عن المسور بن مخرمة ، قال:" قسم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم اقبية ولم يعط مخرمة شيئا، فقال مخرمة: يا بني، انطلق بنا إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فانطلقت معه، فقال: ادخل فادعه لي، قال: فدعوته له، فخرج النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وعليه قباء، فقال: " قد خبات هذا لك"، فنظر إليه، فقال صلى الله عليه وسلم:" رضي مخرمة" .
Sayyiduna Miswar bin Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) distributed some cloaks, but he did not give anything to Sayyiduna Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Go inside and call the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for me. I went and called the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to him, and he had a cloak with him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I had kept this aside for you. The narrator states: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked towards Sayyiduna Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: Makhramah is pleased.
