Clarification That Bani Israel Were Destroyed When Their Women Used Hair Extensions
Hadith Number: 5512
اخبرنا الحسين بن إدريس الانصاري ، قال: اخبرنا احمد بن ابي بكر ، عن مالك ، عن ابن شهاب ، عن حميد بن عبد الرحمن بن عوف ، انه سمع معاوية ، عام حج، وهو على المنبر تناول قصة من شعر كانت في يد حرسي، يقول: يا اهل المدينة، اين علماؤكم؟ سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ينهى عن مثل هذه، ويقول:" إنما هلكت بنو إسرائيل حيث اتخذ هذه نساؤهم" .
Humaid bin Abdur Rahman narrates: He heard Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) on the pulpit during Hajj. He took a bunch of hair from a soldier's hand and said: O people of Madinah, where are your scholars? I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) forbidding the use of something like this. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: The Children of Israel were destroyed when their women began to use this.
