Section on Animals – On the permissibility of branding animals on places other than the face
Hadith Number: 5629
اخبرنا محمد بن إسحاق بن إبراهيم مولى ثقيف، قال: حدثنا يعقوب بن إبراهيم الدورقي ، قال: حدثنا بهز بن اسد ، قال: حدثنا شعبة ، قال: حدثنا هشام بن زيد بن انس ، عن انس بن مالك ، قال: " اتيت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم باخ لي يريد ان يحنكه، فوجده في المربد، وهو يسم غنما" ، قال شعبة: اكثر ظني انه قال: في آذانها.
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I brought my younger brother to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) so that you could perform tahneek for him. I found the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in the garden; you were branding the goats.
The narrator named Shu’bah says: I am fairly certain that the narration also contains these words: You were branding their ears.
The narrator named Shu’bah says: I am fairly certain that the narration also contains these words: You were branding their ears.
