Chapter on Names and Nicknames – Warning against calling oneself“King of Kings”in worldly matters
Hadith Number: 5835
اخبرنا ابو خليفة ، قال: حدثنا إبراهيم بن بشار ، قال: حدثنا سفيان ، قال: حدثنا ابو الزناد ، عن الاعرج ، عن ابي هريرة ، يبلغ به النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: " اخنع الاسماء عند الله رجل تسمى بملك الاملاك"، يعني: شاهان شاها .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: He received this statement from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): "The worst name in the sight of Allah Almighty is that a person is called 'King of Kings'." (The narrator says:) That is, he is called 'Shahanshah' (Emperor).
