It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the sermon of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) during the Farewell Pilgrimage. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was mounted on his camel, with his feet in the stirrups, which made him elevated, and he was saying: "Do you not hear?" Then the last person said, "What do you wish to say? (Your voice is reaching us and we are listening.)" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Worship your Lord, perform the five daily prayers, fast for one month, pay the zakat of your wealth, obey your leader, and enter the Paradise of your Lord." The narrator asked Hazrat Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) at what age he heard this hadith, and he replied: "When I was thirty years old, and I had pushed forward through the crowd."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I participated in the Farewell Pilgrimage with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). After praising and glorifying Allah, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said three times, "Perhaps after this year you will not see me." At this, a tall man who seemed to be from the tribe of Sunu stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah! What should we do?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Worship your Lord, perform the five daily prayers, fast for one month, perform Hajj of the House of Allah, pay the zakat of your wealth with a happy heart, and enter the Paradise of your Lord."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah and His angels send mercy upon those who pray in the first row. The noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) requested twice to include the second row in this virtue, but the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) kept saying the same. Then, upon the third request, he said: And upon the second row as well. And the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Keep your rows straight, join your shoulders together, be gentle in the hands of your brothers, and fill the gaps in between, for indeed Satan enters your rows like small goats.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the mosque when a man came and said, "O Messenger of Allah! I have committed a sin, so punish me according to the Book of Allah." In the meantime, the prayer was established, and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led the prayer. After finishing, when he was about to leave, that man followed him, and I also followed behind him. The man repeated his statement. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him, "Is it not the case that you left your house after performing ablution well and joined us in prayer?" He replied, "Yes, indeed."
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a Muslim servant hears the call to prayer and stands up for ablution, then as soon as the first drop of water falls on his hands, his sins begin to be forgiven. When he rinses his mouth, puts water into his nose, and cleans his nose, the sins of his tongue and lips are removed with the first drop of water. When he washes his face, the sins of his eyes and ears are removed with the first drop of water. And when he washes his hands up to the elbows and his feet up to the ankles, all his previous dangerous sins are forgiven, and he becomes as free from sin as he was at the time of his birth. And when he stands for prayer, it becomes a means of raising his ranks, and if he sits, he sits forgiven.
