Hadith of Lady ‘A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) - Subchapter Index
Hadith Number: 24160
Ubaid bin Umair (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that once Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) came to know that Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) instructs women that when they perform ghusl (ritual bath), they should loosen their hair. She said, "It is astonishing about Abdullah bin Amr that he instructs women to loosen their hair while performing ghusl; why does he not instruct them to shave their heads? I and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform ghusl from the same vessel of water, and I would not pour water on my head more than three times."

It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that sometimes ghusl (ritual bath) would become obligatory upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would sleep without touching water, then after waking up from sleep, he would perform ghusl.

Alqamah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I asked Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) about the voluntary prayers of the Prophet (peace be upon him). She replied, "Which of you has the strength that the Prophet (peace be upon him) had?" However, remember that every action of the Prophet (peace be upon him) was continuous.

It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to frequently say in his bowing and prostration: "Subhanaka Allahumma Rabbana wa bihamdika Allahumma ighfir li" and he used to act upon the Noble Qur'an.

Qaboos narrates from his father that his father sent a woman to Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) to ask which prayer the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was most regular in performing. She replied that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray four rak‘ahs before Zuhr, and he would stand for a long time in them, and perform bowing and prostration very well. And the prayer which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) never abandoned, whether he was healthy or ill, present or traveling, was the two rak‘ahs before Fajr.

It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) kissed the body of Hazrat Uthman bin Maz'oon (may Allah be pleased with him), and I saw that tears were flowing on the face of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Bilal gives the call to prayer (Adhan) when there is still a part of the night remaining, so after his Adhan you may eat and drink, until Ibn Umm Maktum gives the Adhan." She says: "To my knowledge, the time between their Adhans was only as much as it would take for someone to go down and another to climb up."

It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: "It is a very bad thing that you have equated us with dogs and donkeys, whereas sometimes the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would pray at night and I would be lying between him and the Qiblah like a corpse. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wanted to go into prostration, he would pinch my feet, I would draw up my feet, and then he would perform the prostration."
