Hadith of Lady ‘A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) - Subchapter Index
Hadith Number: 24180
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once granted a concession in a certain matter, but some people refrained from accepting that concession. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to know of this, he became so angry that the signs of anger were visible on his blessed face. Then he said: "What is the matter with the people that they turn away from those things in which I have been granted concession? By Allah, I am the one who knows Allah the most among them and fears Him the most among them."

It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave us the choice to stay with him or to choose the world. We chose the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not consider it as any divorce upon us.

It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would perform ruqyah (spiritual healing) on any of his family members, he would pass his right hand over them and recite this supplication: "O Lord of the people! Remove this pain. Grant him/her healing, for You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing. Grant such a healing that leaves no trace of illness." When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was afflicted with his final illness, I would hold his blessed hand and recite these words, then pass the Prophet’s hand over his body. I continued doing this until the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) withdrew his hand from mine and said, "O Lord! Forgive me and join me with the Highest Companion." This was the last statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that I heard.

It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that three cases arose regarding Barirah. Her owners wanted to sell her and make the inheritance conditional for themselves. I mentioned this to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Buy her and set her free, because the inheritance of a slave belongs to the one who sets him free. When she was freed, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave her the choice to remain in the marriage or not, and she chose for herself (ended her marriage with her husband). Also, people used to give her something as charity, and she would give us some of it as a gift. I mentioned this to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is charity for her and a gift for you from her, so you may eat it.
