Hadith Number: 24150
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that Barirah's husband was a free man. When Barirah was freed, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave her the choice of emancipation, and she chose for herself. Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) further says that her owners wanted to sell her, but regarding the condition of wala (inheritance), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): "You buy her and set her free, because wala, that is, the inheritance of the slave, is the right of the one who sets the slave free."

Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) once learned that some people say that if a dog, a donkey, or a woman passes in front of someone praying, the prayer is invalidated. She said, "I think these people have equated us with dogs and donkeys. Sometimes the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would pray at night, and I would be lying like a corpse between him and the Qiblah. If I needed something, I would slip away from the foot of the bed, because I did not like to pass in front of him."

Hammam says that once a guest stayed with Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) ordered that her yellow blanket be given to him. He covered himself with it and slept. In his sleep, he became obligated to perform ghusl (ritual bath). He felt ashamed to return the blanket with stains of impurity, so he washed it with water and then sent it back to Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "Why did he ruin our blanket? It would have been sufficient for him to scrape it off with his fingers. People are returning after performing two acts of worship (Hajj and Umrah), and I am returning after performing only one act of worship (Hajj)?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You should wait; when you become pure, go to Taneem and enter into the state of Ihram for Umrah from there. Then, after performing Umrah, meet us at such-and-such mountain. But this will be according to your share or expense, or as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said."
