Hadith Number: 442
حدثنا سفيان ، قال: حدثنا جامع بن ابي راشد ، وعبد الملك بن اعين ، وعاصم ابن بهدلة ، انهم سمعوه من ابي وائل ، يقول: سمعت قيس بن ابي غرزة ، يقول: كنا نسمى السماسرة على عهد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فاتانا ونحن بالبقيع ومعنا العصى، فسمانا باسم هو احسن منه، فقال:" يا معشر التجار"! فاجتمعنا إليه , فقال: " إن هذا البيع يحضره الحلف والكذب، فشوبوه بالصدقة" .
Sayyiduna Qais bin Abu Garza (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: In the blessed time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), we were called agents. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to us while we were in Baqi', and we had horses with us. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave us a name better than our previous one. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "O group of traders," so we gathered in his presence. Then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "In this trade, oaths and lies become involved, so mix charity into it."
