حدثنا سفيان ، قال: حدثنا صالح بن كيسان , انه سمع سليمان بن يسار يحدث، عن ابي رافع ، قال: " لم يامرني رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ان انزل ثم يعني في الابطح، ولكني انا ضربت قبته ثم جاءه فنزل" .
Sayyiduna Abu Rafi’ (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not command me to camp, that is, to camp in the valley of Abtah. However, I pitched a tent there. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came and he camped there.

حدثنا سفيان ، قال: وكان عمرو بن دينار يحدث بهذا الحديث، عن صالح بن كيسان ، فلما قدم صالح علينا، قال لنا عمرو: اذهبوا إليه فاسالوه عن هذا الحديث.
Sufyan says: Amr bin Dinar narrated this report on the authority of Salih bin Kaysan. When Salih came to us, he said to us: Go to them and ask them about this hadith.

حدثنا سفيان ، قال: حدثنا سالم ابو النضر مولى عمر بن عبيد الله بن معمر، عن عبيد الله بن ابي رافع ، عن ابيه ، قال سفيان: وحدثنا محمد بن المنكدر مرسلا، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " لا الفين احدكم متكئا على اريكته ياتيه الامر من امري مما امرت به، او نهيت عنه، فيقول: لا ادرى , ما وجدنا في كتاب الله اتبعناه" . قال سفيان: وانا لحديث ابن المنكدر احفظ، لاني سمعته اولا، وقد حفظت هذا ايضا.
Ubaydullah bin Abu Rafi’ narrates from his father that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“I should never find any one of you reclining on his cushion, and when a command from among our commands comes to him, which we had given, or something we had forbidden, he says: ‘I do not know; we did not find this in Allah’s Book, otherwise we would have followed it.’”Humaydi (may Allah have mercy on him) says: Sufyan narrated this; I have memorized the narrations of Ibn al-Munkadir better, I first heard this narration from him and I have also memorized this narration.

Hadith Number 562

حدثنا سفيان ، قال: حدثنا إبراهيم بن ميسرة ، قال: سمعت عمرو بن الشريد ، يقول: اخذ المسور بن المخرمة بيدي، فقال: انطلق بنا إلى سعد بن ابي وقاص، فخرجت معه وإن يده لعلى احد منكبي، فجاء إليه ابو رافع، فقال للمسور: الا تامر هذا يعني سعدا، يشتري من بيتي الذي في داره، فقال سعد: لا والله! لا ازيد على اربع مائة دينار، إما قال: مقطعة، وإما قال: منجمة، قال: فقال له ابو رافع : والله! إن كنت لامنعها من خمس مائة دينار نقدا، ولولا اني سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: " الجار احق بسقبه" ما بعتك .
Amr bin Shuraid narrates: Sayyiduna Miswar bin Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with him) held my hand and said: Come with me to Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him). I went with him, and one of his hands was on my shoulder. Sayyiduna Abu Rafi’ (may Allah be pleased with him) came to him and said to Sayyiduna Miswar bin Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with him): Will you not tell him, meaning Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him), to buy my house which is in his neighborhood? So Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) said: No! By Allah, I will not pay more than four hundred dinars, and that payment will be in installments (the narrator is unsure about the word here). The narrator says: So Sayyiduna Abu Rafi’ (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: By Allah! I have already refused five hundred dinars in cash. If I had not heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say:“The neighbor has more right to his adjacent property,”I would not sell it to you.
