حدثنا سفيان ، قال: حدثنا الاسود بن قيس وهو يتفلى في الشمس في الشتاء، يقول: سمعت جندب البجلي ، يقول: شهدت العيد مع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فعلم ان ناسا ذبحوا قبل الصلاة، فقال: " من كان منكم ذبح قبل الصلاة فليعد ذبيحته، ومن لم يكن ذبح، فليذبح على اسم الله" .
Sufyan narrates: Aswad bin Qais was sitting in the sun during the winter season, picking out his lice. He narrated this hadith to us. He says: I heard Sayyiduna Jundub Bajali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrate this, he says: I was present with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) on the occasion of Eid, and he came to know that some people had sacrificed animals before the prayer. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever slaughtered the animal before the prayer should offer the sacrifice again, and whoever has not yet slaughtered, let him now slaughter in the name of Allah."

حدثنا سفيان ، قال: حدثنا الاسود بن قيس ، قال: سمعت جندب بن عبد الله البجلي ، قال: كنت مع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، في غار فنكبت إصبعه، فقال:" هل انت إلا إصبع دميت وفي سبيل الله ما لقيت" .
Sayyiduna Jundub bin Abdullah Bajali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I was with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in a battle, and the blessed finger of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was wounded. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse: "You are only a finger, which has become bloodied; you have faced this situation in the way of Allah."

حدثنا سفيان ، قال: حدثنا الاسود بن قيس ، قال: حدثنا جندب بن عبد الله البجلي ، قال: " ابطا جبرائيل عليه السلام على النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بالوحي، فقال المشركون: قد ودع محمد، فانزل الله عز وجل: والضحى {1} والليل إذا سجى {2} ما ودعك ربك وما قلى سورة الضحى آية 1-3" .
Sayyiduna Jundub bin Abdullah Bajali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once, Jibreel (peace be upon him) did not come to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) with revelation for some time, so the polytheists began to say: Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) has been abandoned. Allah Almighty then revealed this verse: «وَالضُّحَى * وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا سَجَى * مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلَى» "By the morning brightness, and by the night when it covers with darkness. Your Lord has not forsaken you, nor is He displeased with you."

حدثنا سفيان ، قال: حدثنا الوليد بن حرب الصدوق الامين، قال: سمعت سلمة بن كهيل ، يقول: ما سمعت من احد سمع من النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم إلا جندبا البجلي، سمعت جندبا ، يقول: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، يقول: " من يسمع الله به، ومن يراء يراء الله به" .
Sayyiduna Jundub bin Abdullah Bajali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Whoever wants to become famous, Allah makes him famous, and whoever wants to show off, Allah exposes his show-off."

حدثنا سفيان ، قال: حدثنا عبد الملك بن عمير ، قال: سمعت جندبا البجلي ، يقول: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" الا إني فرطكم على الحوض" , قال سفيان:" وذكر فيه شيء آخر".
Sayyiduna Jundub bin Abdullah Bajali رضي الله عنه narrates: The Noble Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "Beware! I will precede you at the Hawd (Pond) of Kawthar." Sufyan says: There is mention of another thing in this narration as well.

حدثنا سفيان ، قال: حدثنا ابن ابي خالد ، عن قيس بن ابي حازم ، قال: سمعت الصنابحي الاحمسي ، يقول: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، يقول:" الا إني فرطكم على الحوض، وإني مكاثر بكم الامم، فلا تقتتلن بعدي" , حدثنا الحميدي: الصنابحي هو ابو الاعسر، ولم يقله لنا سفيان، فعلمناه من وجه آخر.
Sayyiduna Sanabihi Ahmasi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Beware! I will precede you at the Pond of Kawthar, and I will boast of your multitude before the other nations, so do not start fighting and quarreling (or religious disputes) among yourselves after me."
Imam Humaydi (may Allah have mercy on him) states: The narrator named Sanabihi, his kunyah is Abu Usar. Sufyan did not inform us of this; we learned it from another source.
