Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the first night of Ramadan comes, the rebellious devils and jinn are chained, and the doors of Hell are closed, and none of its doors are opened. All the doors of Paradise are opened, and none of its doors are closed. And a caller announces: O seeker of good, advance (do many good deeds), and O seeker of evil, desist. And Allah has many people whom He frees from Hell."

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This blessed month of yours has come. By the oath of the Messenger of Allah, no month better than this passes by the Muslims, and no month worse than this passes by the hypocrites. By the oath of the Messenger of Allah, before this month begins, the reward and voluntary deeds of the (believer) are written, and the persistence in sins and wretchedness of the (hypocrite) are written before the beginning of this month. And this is because the believer gathers financial strength for worship in this month, and the hypocrite prepares to seek out the heedlessness and shortcomings of the believers. So this month is a gain from which the believer benefits." This is the narration of Yahya, and in the narration of Bundar it is: "So it is a gain for the believers from which the wicked person benefits."

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He is about to come to you and you are about to receive him." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said this three times. So Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) asked, "O Messenger of Allah, is revelation about to descend?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, "No." He asked, "Has an enemy arrived?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, "No." Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) then asked, "Then what is about to come?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Indeed, on the first night of Ramadan, Allah Almighty forgives every person who faces this Qiblah." And the Prophet (peace be upon him) pointed towards the Qiblah. Then a man began to shake his head and say 'Wonderful, wonderful.' So the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to him, "O so-and-so, has your chest become constricted by this statement? (Did you not like this statement?)" He replied, "No, but I remembered the hypocrite (that he too, being among the people of the Qiblah, would be forgiven)." So the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Indeed, the hypocrites are disbelievers, and the disbeliever attains nothing from this blessed virtue."

Abu Khattab Ghafari رحمه الله narrates from Sayyiduna Abu Mas’ud رضی اللہ عنہ. He says: I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم saying one day, when Ramadan had begun:“If the servants knew the importance and grandeur of Ramadan, my Ummah would wish that the whole year be Ramadan.”Then a man from Banu Khuza’ah said,“O Messenger of Allah, tell us about its grandeur.”So the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:“Indeed, Paradise is adorned for Ramadan throughout the year. Then, when the first day of Ramadan comes, a wind blows from beneath the Throne, causing the leaves of Paradise (trees) to rustle. The houris, seeing this scene, say: ‘O our Lord, make from among Your servants our husbands in this month, with whom our eyes will be cooled and their eyes will be cooled with us.’ The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: ‘Therefore, whoever fasts one day in Ramadan, he will be married to a houri who resides in a tent made of pearls, as Allah Almighty has described them: «‏‏‏‏حُورٌ مَّقْصُورَاتٌ فِي الْخِيَامِ» ‏‏‏‏ [ سورة الرحمٰن: 72 ] “Houris will be sheltered in tents.”Each woman will wear seventy garments. The color of one garment will not match the other. She will be given seventy kinds of fragrances. None of these fragrances will resemble the other. Each woman will have seventy thousand maidservants to serve her, and seventy thousand servants. Each servant will have a golden bowl, in which there will be food, and each morsel will have a different taste. For each woman, there will be seventy beds made of red rubies. On each bed, there will be seventy mattresses, whose linings will be of thick silk. On each mattress, there will be seventy decorated cushions. And her husband will also be given similar blessings on a bed of red rubies, adorned with pearl fringes. He will wear two bracelets of gold. These rewards will be for every fast of Ramadan, and the reward for other good deeds will be separate.’ Sometimes Firyabi has differed in some words of the text of Sahl bin Hammad’s hadith. In the narration of Salm bin Junadah, it is mentioned that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said, and the narration continues up to his statement: «‏‏‏‏حُورٌ مَّقْصُورَاتٌ فِي الْخِيَامِ» ‏‏‏‏

Sayyiduna Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed us on the last day of Sha’ban and said:“O people, a great month has come upon you. It is a blessed month. In it is a night which is better than a thousand months. Allah Almighty has made fasting during this month obligatory and standing in its nights voluntary. Whoever draws near to Allah in it with a good deed, it is as if he has performed an obligatory act in other months. And whoever performs an obligatory act in it, it is as if he has performed seventy obligatory acts in other months. It is the month of patience, and the reward of patience is Paradise. It is the month of sympathy and compassion. In this month, the sustenance of the believer is increased. Whoever gives iftar to a fasting person in this month, it will be a cause for the forgiveness of his sins and for freeing his neck from the Fire, and he will receive a reward equal to that of the fasting person, without the reward of the fasting person being diminished in the least.”The Companions said,“Not all of us have the means to give iftar to a fasting person.”So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Allah gives this reward even to the one who gives a fasting person a single date, or a sip of water, or a sip of diluted milk to break his fast. The first part of this month is mercy, the middle part is forgiveness, and the last part is freedom from the Fire. Whoever makes things easy for his slave in this month, Allah will forgive him and free him from the Fire. In this month, do four things in abundance. With two of them you will please your Lord, and you cannot do without the other two. As for the two with which you will please your Lord, they are: bearing witness that there is no true god except Allah, and seeking forgiveness from Him. And as for the two you cannot do without, they are: asking Allah for Paradise and seeking refuge with Him from the Fire. And whoever gives a fasting person a full meal in this month, Allah will give him to drink from my cistern, after which he will never feel thirsty until he enters Paradise.”
