Hadith Number: 551
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever attends a funeral and then offers the funeral prayer will receive the reward of one qirat, and whoever remains until the burial will receive the reward of two qirats. It was asked: How much are two qirats? He replied: Like two great mountains (i.e., do not consider it like the qirat of this world, which is one-twelfth of a dirham. In another narration, it is mentioned that the qirat of the Hereafter is equal to the mountain of Uhud).

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Why did you not inform me?" The companions replied, "This and this was the reason (so we did not trouble you)." It was as if the people considered him/her insignificant and not worthy of attention. But the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Show me his/her grave." So he went to the grave and offered the funeral prayer for him/her.
