It is narrated from Sayyiduna Wathilah bin Asqa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, Allah Almighty selected Isma’il from the children of Ibrahim, from the descendants of Isma’il He selected Kinanah, from the descendants of Kinanah He selected Quraysh, from Quraysh He selected Banu Hashim, and from Banu Hashim He selected me.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdul Muttalib bin Rabee’ah (may Allah be pleased with him) that some Ansari people came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: We hear things from your people; they even say about you that the example of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is like that of a honeybee, which is produced from the rubbish gathered by a broom. Husain, the narrator, said:“Kibā’”refers to the rubbish gathered by a broom. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O people! Who am I? They said: You are the Messenger of Allah. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I am Muhammad, son of Abdullah, son of Abdul Muttalib. Before this, we had not heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mention his lineage. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Beware! Allah Almighty created His creation (jinn and mankind) and made me among the best of creation (i.e., among humans). Then He divided humanity into two parts and placed me in the best part. Then He divided that into tribes and placed me in the best tribe. Then He divided that into households and made me of the best household. Thus, I am the best among you in terms of household and the best in terms of self.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ash’ath bin Qais (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in a delegation. The people of that delegation did not think that I was superior among them, so I said: O Messenger of Allah! We think that you are from among us? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: We are Banu Nadr bin Kinana; we neither accuse our mother nor deny our father. Ash’ath used to say: If anyone was brought to me who denied the connection of the Quraysh to Nadr bin Kinana, I would have him flogged as a prescribed punishment.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna ‘Irbad bin Sariyah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I am the servant of Allah, who was written as the Seal of the Prophets in Umm al-Kitab at a time when Adam (peace be upon him) was still lying in his clay, and soon I will explain its interpretation to you. I am the answer to the supplication of my father Ibrahim (peace be upon him), the glad tidings of ‘Isa (peace be upon him), and the dream of my mother. My mother saw in a dream that a light emerged from her, which illuminated the palaces of Syria for her, and the mothers of the Prophets used to see similar dreams. May Allah’s mercy be upon them.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Maisarah Fajr (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! When were you made a Prophet?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "I was made a Prophet at a time when Adam (peace be upon him) was still between soul and body."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: There will be twenty-seven liars and impostors in my Ummah, four of whom will be women, while I am the Seal of the Prophets; there will be no prophet after me.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: On the Day of Resurrection, I will be the leader of the children of Adam, and I do not boast about it. I will be the first person for whom the earth will split open on the Day of Resurrection, and I do not boast about it. And I will be the first intercessor on the Day of Resurrection, and I do not boast about it either.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ubayy ibn Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the Day of Resurrection comes, I will be the leader and speaker of the Prophets, and I will be the intercessor, while I do not take pride in this.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jubair bin Mut’im (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Surely, I have some names; I am Muhammad, I am Ahmad, I am Hashir—people will be gathered at my feet, I am Mahi—that is, through me disbelief will be erased, and I am Aqib, and Aqib is the one after whom there is no prophet.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him), who says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) mentioned some of his names to us, some of which we remembered. He (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: I am Muhammad, Ahmad, Muqaffi, Hashir, and the Prophet of Mercy. Yazid, the narrator, said: And I am the Prophet of Repentance and the Prophet of Battle.
