Sunan Saeed bin Mansur
فَضَائِلُ الْقُرْآنِ
Virtues of the Qur'an
Hadith Number: 131
حدثنا سعيد، قال: اخبرنا سفيان ، عن الزهري ، عن عروة ، عن عائشة رضي الله عنها، قالت: سمع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قراءة ابي موسى، فقال:" لقد اوتي هذا من مزامير آل داود" .
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) heard the recitation of Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: Indeed, he has been given one of the musical instruments of the family of Dawud.

Hadith Number: 132
حدثنا سعيد، قال: اخبرنا سفيان ، عن الزهري ، عن عروة ، عن عائشة رضي الله عنها، قالت: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " دخلت الجنة، فسمعت قراءة، فقلت: من هذا؟، فقالوا: حارثة بن النعمان، كذلكم البر، كذلكم البر" .
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I entered Paradise and heard a recitation. I asked: Who is this? It was said: Harithah bin Nu'man. (Then he said:) This is the rank of goodness, this is the rank of goodness.

Hadith Number: 133
حدثنا سعيد، قال: اخبرنا حدثنا سعيد، قال: اخبرنا سفيان ، عن عمار الدهني ، عن سالم بن ابي الجعد ، ان عليا " فرض او اعطا لمن قرا القرآن الفين الفين، وكان ابي ممن قرا القرآن فلم ياخذ" .
It is narrated from Salim bin Abi Al-Ja'd (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) fixed two thousand (dirhams) for the one who recited the Qur'an, and my father was also among those who recited the Qur'an, but he did not take it.

Hadith Number: 134
حدثنا سعيد، قال: اخبرنا حدثنا سعيد، قال: اخبرنا خالد بن ابي نضرة، عن سعيد بن إياس الجريري ، عن ابي نضرة ، عن ابي فراس ، ان عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه، قال:" ايها الناس، إنه اتى علي زمان، وانا لا ادري ان احدا يريد بقراءته غير الله عز وجل، حتى خيل إلي بآخرة ان اقواما يريدون بقراءتهم غير الله، فاريدوا الله عز وجل بقراءتكم واعمالكم" .
It is narrated from Abu Firas (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O people! There was a time when I did not know that anyone could seek the pleasure of anyone other than Allah Almighty through the recitation of the Qur'an, until later I began to think that some people want to please others besides Allah with their recitation. Therefore, in your recitation and deeds, make the pleasure of Allah Almighty your sole objective.

Hadith Number: 135
حدثنا سعيد، قال: اخبرنا ابو شهاب ، عن الصلت بن بهرام ، عن الحسن ، قال:" إن هذا القرآن قراه عبيد وصبيان لم ياخذوه من اوله، ولا علم لهم بتاويله، إن احق الناس بهذا القرآن من رئي في عمله،" قال الله تبارك وتعالى: كتاب انزلناه إليك مبارك ليدبروا آياته وليتذكر اولو الالباب سورة ص آية 29، وإنما تدبر آياته اتباعه بعمله، يقول احدهم لصاحبه: تعال اقارئك، والله ما كانت القراء تفعل هذا، والله ما هم بالقراء، ولا الورعة، لا كثر الله في الناس امثالهم، لا كثر الله في الناس امثالهم" .
Hasan al-Basri, may Allah have mercy on him, said: This Qur’an has been recited by such slaves and children who neither learned it from its beginning nor have knowledge of its interpretation and explanation. Indeed, those most deserving of the Qur’an are those whose actions reflect it, as Allah the Blessed and Exalted has said:“(This is) a blessed Book which We have sent down to you, that they might reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding would be reminded.” [سورہ ص: 29] And the true meaning of reflecting upon its verses is to follow and act upon it. (Today) a person says to another:“Come, I will teach you the Qur’an!”By Allah! The reciters of old did not do this, by Allah! They are neither among the reciters nor among the people of piety. May Allah not increase such people, may Allah not increase such people.

Hadith Number: 136
حدثنا سعيد، قال: اخبرنا حدثنا سعيد، قال: اخبرنا ابو الاحوص ، عن ابي سنان ، عن ابي صالح ، عن ابي سعيد الخدري ، او عن ابي هريرة ، قال: " من قرا في ليلة مائة آية كتب من القانتين، ومن حافظ على الصلوات الخمس لم يكتب من الغافلين" .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) or Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever recites one hundred (100) verses at night will be written among the devoutly obedient (Qanitin), and whoever is regular in the five prayers will not be counted among the heedless."

Hadith Number: 137
حدثنا سعيد، قال: اخبرنا ابو الاحوص ، عن ابي سنان ، عن ابن ابي الهذيل ، قال:" كانوا يكرهون ان يقرءوا بعض الآية ويتركوا بعضا" .
It is narrated from Ibn Abi Al-Hudhayl (may Allah have mercy on him) that the Companions disliked reciting only part of some verses and leaving out the rest.

Hadith Number: 138
حدثنا سعيد، قال: اخبرنا ابو الاحوص ، عن ابي سنان ، عن المغيرة بن سبيع ، قال: " من قرا عند منامه آيات من البقرة لم ينس القرآن: اربع آيات من: وإلهكم إله واحد لا إله إلا هو الرحمن الرحيم سورة البقرة آية 163، وآية الكرسي، والثلاث آيات من آخرها" .
It is narrated from Mughira bin Sabi’ (may Allah have mercy on him) that whoever recites a few verses of Surah Al-Baqarah before sleeping will not forget the Qur’an; that is, four verses:“And your God is one God; there is no deity except Him, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate”(__QUR_N__), Ayat al-Kursi, and its last three verses.

Hadith Number: 139
حدثنا سعيد، قال: اخبرنا حدثنا سعيد، قال: اخبرنا ابو الاحوص ، عن مغيرة ، عن إبراهيم ، قال: قال عبد الله : " ليس الخطا ان تجعل خاتمة آية خاتمة آية اخرى" .
It is narrated from Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The mistake is not that the ending of one verse is joined with the ending of another verse.

Hadith Number: 140
حدثنا سعيد، قال: اخبرنا حدثنا سعيد، قال: اخبرنا إسماعيل بن إبراهيم ، عن ايوب ، عن نافع ، عن ابن عمر ، قال:" لا يقولن احدكم: اخذت القرآن كله، وما يدريه ما كله، قد ذهب منه قرآن كثير، ولكن يقول: اخذنا ما ظهر منه" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: None of you should say, "I have taken the whole Qur'an," for how does he know what the whole Qur'an is! Much of the Qur'an has passed away from it. Rather, he should say: We have taken from it that which has appeared.
