It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), he says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The Jews envy you for two qualities: saying Salam and saying Ameen."

Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that a Jew came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said (instead of "As-salamu Alaikum"): O Muhammad! «اَلسَّامُ عَليكم» (meaning: death and destruction be upon you). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: «وعليك» (and upon you too). Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I wanted to say something, but I knew that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would dislike it, so I remained silent. Another Jew came and said: «اَلسَّامُ عَليكم» (death and destruction be upon you). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: " «وعليك» (and upon you too)." This time as well, I wanted to say something, but due to the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) dislike, I remained silent. Then a third Jew came and said: «اَلسَّامُ عَليكم» I could not remain patient and I spoke out: O apes and swine! Destruction be upon you, and the wrath of Allah and His curse. Do you want to adopt the manner in which Allah Almighty has not sent peace upon the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty does not like foul language and obscenity. They (the Jews) said «اَلسَّامُ عَليكم» and we also (avoiding foul language, by only saying «وعليك» ) replied. In fact, the Jews are a jealous people, and they do not envy us for any trait as much as they envy us for Salam and Ameen."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) taught us the prayer and said: "Do not precede the imam in bowing and prostrating. When he says «الله اكبر» , then you say «الله اكبر» ; when he says «ولا الضالين» , then you say 'Ameen,' for whoever's 'Ameen' coincides with the 'Ameen' of the angels, his previous sins will be forgiven. When the imam bows, then you bow; when he says «سمع الله لمن حمده» , then you say «اللهم ربنا ولك الحمد» , and do not raise your head before him. (Similarly,) when he prostrates, then you prostrate."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When any of you spits in the mosque, he should cover it so that it does not get on the body or clothes of any Muslim, for that would cause him harm."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When any one of you stands for prayer, he should not spit in front of him because when he is in prayer, he is whispering to his Lord. Nor should he spit to his right, for there is an angel on his right. (However,) he may spit to his left or spit under his foot and bury it."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a person stands in prayer, Allah Almighty turns towards him with His Face. Therefore, the one praying should not spit in front of him, nor to his right side, because the angel who records good deeds is on his right side. (However), he should spit to his left side."

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered a man to lead the people in the Zuhr prayer. While leading the prayer, he spat in the direction of the Qiblah. When the time for Asr prayer came, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent another man (to lead the prayer). The first man became afraid and came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Has any command been revealed concerning me? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No, (no command has been revealed, the matter is that) when you were leading the people in prayer, you spat in front of you and thus caused harm to Allah and the angels (because of this I removed you from the position of Imamate)."

Busr bin Mihjan narrates from his father Sayyiduna Mihjan (may Allah be pleased with him) that he was present in a gathering with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The call to prayer was given, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up and performed the prayer. When he returned (after praying), he saw that Mihjan was still sitting there; he had not prayed with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: "What prevented you from praying with the people? Are you not a Muslim?" He replied: "O Messenger of Allah! Of course (I am a Muslim, in fact) I had already performed the prayer at home." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you come (and the people are praying), then pray with them, even if you have already performed the prayer."
