Sayyiduna Humaid bin Hilal (may Allah be pleased with him) says: A man from the tribe of Tufawah, who used to pass by us, came to his tribe and said: We came to Madinah with our trade caravan and sold our goods. Then I said: I will surely go to this man (the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him) and inform those who come after about your circumstances. I reached the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he showed me a house and said: "A woman used to live in this house. She left behind twelve goats and a spindle with which she used to spin, and went out with a Muslim military detachment. (When she returned, she saw that) one goat and the spindle were missing. She said: O my Lord! You have guaranteed protection for the one who goes out in Your way, and I have lost a goat and a spindle. Now I beseech You by oath and ask You for my goat and spindle." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) began to mention to his Lord the intensity of her demand and said: "She got her goat and another goat like it, and her spindle and another spindle like it. If you wish, go to her and ask her yourself."

Sayyiduna Ya’la bin Munyah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) announced jihad. I was an old man and I did not have any servant. I looked for a laborer who could suffice for me and who would be given his share. I found a man. When the time for departure drew near, he came to me and said: I do not know what two shares are and how much my share will be. You fix (my wages) for me, whether I get a share or not. I fixed three dinars for him. When the spoils were distributed, I intended to give him his share, but suddenly I remembered the dinars. I came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and presented this matter before him. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In my view, in this expedition, he will get nothing in this world or the Hereafter except the dinars that were fixed for him.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zayd bin Khalid al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“Whoever equips a warrior in the way of Allah (i.e., provides him with the means for jihad), he will receive a reward equal to that of the warrior. And whoever looks after the family of a mujahid in his absence with goodness or spends on his dependents, he too will receive a reward equal to that of the mujahid.”

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever equips a warrior in the path of Allah, he will receive a reward equal to that (which the warrior receives), and whoever looks after the family of a Mujahid in his absence with goodness or spends on his family, he will also receive a reward equal to that (of the Mujahid)."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The warrior (ghazi) will receive his reward, and the one who equips him will receive (double reward): one his own reward and the reward of the warrior."

Sayyiduna Mu’adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Whoever is wounded in the way of Allah will come on the Day of Resurrection with the wound having the fragrance of musk and the color of saffron, and upon it will be the seal of the martyrs. Whoever sincerely asks Allah for martyrdom, Allah will grant him the reward of a martyr, even if he dies on his bed.”

Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he was in a (leather) red tent and about forty men were sitting with him. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Victories will be granted to you, you will be helped, and you will obtain spoils of war. Whoever reaches such a time should fear Allah, enjoin good, forbid evil, and maintain ties of kinship. Whoever deliberately lies about me, let him prepare his abode in Hell. The person who helps a people in their false cause is like a camel that has been thrown into a well and then pulled out by its tail."

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Victories will be granted to you, you will be helped, and you will obtain spoils of war. Whoever reaches such a time should fear Allah, enjoin good, forbid evil, and maintain ties of kinship. Whoever deliberately lies about me, let him prepare his abode in Hell. The person who helps a people in their falsehood is like a camel that has been thrown into a well and then pulled out by its tail."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Nafi’ bin Utbah bin Abu Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You will fight the inhabitants of the Arabian Peninsula, and Allah will grant you victory. Then you will fight the Persians, and they will also be defeated. Then you will fight the Romans, and Allah will grant you victory. Then you will fight the Dajjal, and Allah will grant you victory over him as well."

Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When people abandon jihad, Allah sends a general punishment upon them."
