It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jubair bin Mut’im (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“Whoever says: ‘Allah is Pure with His praises, O Allah! You are Pure with Your praises, I bear witness that You alone are the true deity, I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You.’ Whoever says these words after a gathering of remembrance, it will be a seal upon that remembrance, and whoever says them after a vain and idle gathering, it will be an expiation for that gathering.”

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Allah, the Exalted, is displeased with the person who does not supplicate to Him."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salman (may Allah be pleased with him), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Nothing can repel destiny except supplication, and it is righteousness alone that can increase lifespan."

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No supplication of a servant is superior to this supplication: O Allah! I ask You for well-being and safety in this world and the Hereafter."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to his uncle, Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him): "O my dear uncle! Frequently supplicate for well-being (afiyah)."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "These are the words by which relief is granted: There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, the Forbearing, the Merciful. There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, the Most High, the Most Great. There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, the Lord of the seven heavens and the Lord of the Mighty Throne."

Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Whenever anyone is afflicted by worry, grief, or distress, and he recites this supplication: O Allah! I am Your servant, the son of Your servant, and the son of Your maidservant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is ever executed, and Your decree over me is just. I ask You by every name belonging to You which You have named Yourself with, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any of Your creation, or kept with Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen, that You make the Qur’an the spring of my heart, the light of my chest, the remover of my sorrow, and the reliever of my distress. Then Allah, the Exalted, will remove his worry, grief, and distress, and in its place grant him relief and ease.”It was said: O Messenger of Allah! Should we not learn these words? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Of course, everyone who hears them should memorize them.”

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says that when a serious matter would arise, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would say: "O Ever-Living! O Sustainer, Who maintains everything by Your power! I seek help from You through Your mercy."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that when something distressed the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he would say: "That Allah is my Lord, I do not associate anyone with Him."

Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) says: On the day of the Trench, we said: O Messenger of Allah! Is there any dhikr (remembrance) that we can say (to relieve our anxiety), our hearts have reached our mouths? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“Yes, say: O Allah! Conceal our faults and grant us security from our fears.”Then Allah, the Exalted, sent a (violent and fierce) wind upon the enemies and defeated them through the wind.
