It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would gather his family and say: "If anyone is afflicted with grief and distress, he should say: «اللَّهُ، اللَّهُ رَبِّى؛ لاَ أُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئاً» ‏‏‏‏ Allah, Allah is my Lord, I do not associate anyone with Him."

Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We were sitting with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said:“Shall I not tell you of a supplication which, when a person afflicted with grief, distress, or trial recites it, his difficulty will be removed?”It was said:“Why not (certainly tell us)!”He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“It is the supplication of the man of the fish, Sayyiduna Yunus (peace be upon him), «لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ» ‘There is no deity worthy of worship except You; You are Glorified; indeed, I was among the wrongdoers’ (Surah Al-Anbiya: 87).”

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Lubabah bin Abd al-Mundhir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) intended to enter any village, before entering it he would recite this supplication: "O Allah! Lord of the seven heavens and whatever creatures dwell beneath them! Lord of the seven earths and whatever creatures dwell upon them! Lord of the winds and whatever flies in them! Lord of the devils and those whom they mislead! I ask You for the goodness of this village and the goodness of whatever is in it, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of this village and the evil of whatever is in it."

Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever says upon entering the marketplace: "There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, He is alone, He has no partner, to Him belongs the dominion, to Him belongs all praise, and He is capable of all things," then Allah Almighty writes for him one million good deeds and erases one million of his sins.

Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Whoever recites Surah al-Kahf as it was revealed, this Surah will become a light for him from his place of residence to Makkah on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever recites the last ten verses of this Surah, and then the Dajjal appears, he will not be harmed by him. And whoever performs ablution and then recites this supplication: ‘O Allah! You are pure with Your praises, I bear witness that You alone are the true deity, I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You,’ then these words are written on a scroll and placed in a sealed (protected) place, which cannot be broken until the Day of Resurrection.”
