Angels do not enter a house with images, except on cloth
Busr bin Saeed narrates from Zaid bin Khalid, and he narrates from the companion of the Messenger of Allah, Sayyiduna Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him), that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Angels do not enter a house in which there is a picture. Busr said: Zaid became ill, so we went to visit him, and there was a curtain hanging at his door on which there was an image. I said to Ubaidullah Khawlani, who was the stepson of Umm al-Mu'mineen Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her): Did not Zaid himself narrate to us the hadith about pictures? (And now a curtain with a picture is hanging.) Ubaidullah said: When he narrated it, did you not hear that he also said, "Except for what is on cloth"?

Curtains with images are disliked; cutting them for cushions
‘Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me and I had covered a niche or shelf with a curtain of mine, which had pictures on it. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw this, he tore it down and the color of his face changed, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“O Aisha! The people who will receive the severest punishment on the Day of Resurrection are those who make images of Allah’s creation.”Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) said that I cut it and made a cushion or two cushions from it. (A cushion from cloth with pictures may only be made when making the cushion distorts the image.)

Umm al-Mu'mineen Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) returned from a journey and I had hung a carpet on my door, on which there were pictures of horses, so at his command, I took it down.

Images on bedding and ruling on making cushions from them
Narrated from Umm al-Mu'mineen Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) that she bought a cushion (the cloth on top of a mattress) which had pictures on it. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw it, he stood at the door and did not enter. I recognized that there was distress on the blessed face of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). I said, "O Messenger of Allah! I repent before Allah and His Messenger. What is my sin?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "What is this cushion?" I said, "I bought it for you to sit on and lean against." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Those who make these pictures will be punished, and it will be said to them, 'Give life to what you have created.'" Then he said, "The angels do not enter a house in which there are pictures." And in another narration, it is mentioned that I made two pillows from it, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would rest on them in the house.

Image-makers will be punished on the Day of Judgment
Sa'id bin Abu al-Hasan says that a man came to Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) and said, "I am a maker of pictures, tell me about it." Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said, "Come near me." He came closer. Then he said, "Come even closer." He came even closer, until Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) placed his hand on his head and said, "I say to you what I heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): I heard him say, 'Every maker of pictures will go to Hell, and for every picture he made, a living being will be created for him, which will punish him in Hell.'" And Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said, "If you must make pictures, then make pictures of trees or anything that does not have a soul."

Severity against image-makers
Abu Zar'ah says: I entered Marwan's house with Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) and saw pictures there. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say, and he used to say: Allah Almighty says: Who could be more at fault than the one who tries to create like Me? Well then, let them create a tiny ant, or a grain of wheat, or a grain of barley.

Prohibition of gold rings, drinking from silver vessels, and wearing silk and brocade
Sayyiduna Bara’ bin ‘Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to do seven things and forbade us from seven things. He commanded us to visit the sick, to accompany funeral processions (to the grave), to respond to sneezes, to fulfill oaths, to help the oppressed, to accept invitations, and to spread or propagate Islam. And he forbade us from wearing gold rings, eating and drinking from silver utensils, (using) saddle cloths (i.e., silk saddle cloths; if they are not made of silk, then it is not forbidden), wearing Qassi (a silk cloth made in a place called Qas in Egypt), wearing silk clothes, and from Istabraq and Dibaaj (both of which are also silk fabrics).

Discarding gold rings
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a gold ring in a man's hand, so he (peace be upon him) took it off and threw it away and said: "One of you intends a burning coal from the fire of Hell and then puts it in his hand." When the Prophet (peace be upon him) left, the people said to that man, "Pick up your ring and benefit from its (price)." He replied, "By Allah, I will never touch it after the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has thrown it away." (SubhanAllah, the piety and obedience of the Companions had reached such a level. If he had picked it up and sold it, there would have been no sin.)

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had a ring of gold made. When he wore it, he would turn its stone towards the palm of his hand. Then one day, he sat on the pulpit and took off that ring and said: "I used to wear this ring and turn its stone inward," then he threw it away and said: "By Allah, I will never wear it again." Seeing this, the people also threw away their rings.
