It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said that Abu Jahl has been killed. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Praise be to Allah who helped His servant and honored His religion."

Abu Aqrab says that once, during the month of Ramadan in the morning, I went to visit Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him). I found him sitting on the roof of his house. We heard his voice saying: "Allah has spoken the truth and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has conveyed (the message)." We went to him and asked: "We heard you saying that Allah has spoken the truth and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has conveyed (the message). What does this mean?" He replied that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Laylat al-Qadr is in the middle of the last seven nights of Ramadan, and after that night, when the morning comes and the sun rises, it is completely clear, and it has no rays." I was just observing this, and I found it exactly as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had said.

Masruq (may Allah have mercy on him) says that we were sitting with Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) in the mosque and he was teaching us the Qur'an. In the meantime, a man came and said: O Abu Abdur Rahman! Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) tell you how many caliphs there will be in this Ummah? Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: Yes! (We asked the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, this question and) he said: "There will be twelve caliphs, like the number of chiefs of Bani Israel."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were on a journey with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when we heard a caller saying: «الله اكبر الله اكبر» , the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied to this by saying: "This person is upon sound nature (fitrah)." Then he said: «أشهد أن لا إلٰه إلا الله» , so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "He has been saved from the Fire." We hurried towards him and found that he was a shepherd who had caught the prayer and it was he who had made this call.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "At the place of Sidrat al-Muntaha, I saw Jibreel in his original form; he had six hundred wings." When the narrator asked his teacher 'Asim for clarification, he refused to explain. Another student of his said that one wing covers the distance between the east and the west.

Hadith Number: 3864
It is mostly narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw Jibreel (peace be upon him) in his original form only twice. On one occasion, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) himself requested him to show his original form, so he showed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) his original form, which covered the entire horizon. The second time was when he took the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the Mi'raj (Ascension). This is the meaning of this verse: «﴿وَهُوَ بِالْأُفُقِ الْأَعْلَى o ثُمَّ دَنَا فَتَدَلَّى o فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنَى o فَأَوْحَى إِلَى عَبْدِهِ مَا أَوْحَى﴾» [النجم: 7-10] Then when Jibreel (peace be upon him) felt the presence of his Lord, he came in his original form and fell in prostration. This is the meaning of this verse: «﴿وَلَقَدْ رَآهُ نَزْلَةً أُخْرَى o عِنْدَ سِدْرَةِ الْمُنْتَهَى o عِنْدَهَا جَنَّةُ الْمَأْوَى o إِذْ يَغْشَى السِّدْرَةَ مَا يَغْشَى o مَا زَاغَ الْبَصَرُ وَمَا طَغَى o لَقَدْ رَأَى مِنْ آيَاتِ رَبِّهِ الْكُبْرَى﴾» [النجم: 13-18] That is, by this is meant seeing the creation and body of Jibreel (peace be upon him).

Hadith Number: 3865
Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says that there are two statements, one of which I heard from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and the other I say from myself. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever dies in such a state that he associates anyone with Allah, he will enter Hell." And I say that whoever dies in such a state that he does not associate anyone with Allah, he will enter Paradise, and these prayers become an expiation for the times between them, provided that a person refrains from killing and fighting.
