Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I heard Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) on the pulpit, gesturing with his hand in this way—moving his hand to the left and to the right—saying: In Iraq, one of our minor officials has mixed the price of alcohol and swine into the Muslims’“mal-e-fay”(spoils of war), even though the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“May Allah curse the Jews; fat was made unlawful for them, so they melted it and sold it.”The narrator says: That is, they melted it.
