Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair narrates that Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said: I had compiled the definitive verses during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). That is, those verses which are clear and evident and do not require any interpretation.
