٤٠٥٩٥ - حدثنا وكيع عن (فطر) (١) عن منذر عن ابن (الحنفية) (٢) قال: حملت على رجل يوم الجمل فلما ذهبت اطعنه قال: انا (على) (٣) دين (علي) (٤) بن ابي طالب فعرفت الذي يزيد، فتركته.

It is narrated from Ibn Hanfiyyah that on the day of the Battle of Jamal, I had overpowered a man. When I was about to strike him with a spear, he said, "I am on the religion of Ali (may Allah be pleased with him)" (meaning, I am with him). I understood what he intended, so I let him go.
