Hadith Number: 5554
عن ابي ذر رضي الله عنه قال كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم إذا اخذ مضجعه من الليل قال اللهم باسمك نموت ونحيا وإذا استيقظ قال الحمد لله الذي احيانا بعد ما اماتنا وإليه النشور
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would come to his bed at night, he would recite this supplication: "O Allah! In Your name we die and we live." And when he would wake up, he would recite this supplication: "All praise is due to Allah who gave us life after causing us to die, and to Him is the return."
