Chapter on Nullifiers of Ablution – Clarification that the food from which the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not perform ablution was sheep meat, not camel meat
Hadith Number: 1137
اخبرنا عمر بن محمد الهمداني ، قال: حدثنا الحسن بن قزعة ، قال: حدثنا محمد بن عبد الرحمن الطفاوي ، قال: حدثنا ايوب ، عن محمد بن المنكدر ، عن جابر بن عبد الله ، قال:" دعت امراة من الانصار رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم على شاة " فاكل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم واصحابه، فحضرت الصلاة، فتوضا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، ثم عاد إلى بقيتها فاكلوا، فحضرت العصر، فلم يتوضا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم" .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: An Ansari woman invited the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to eat goat meat. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and his companions ate it. When the time for prayer came, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed ablution (and offered the prayer). Then he went towards the remaining portion of the meat and those people ate it. When the time for Asr prayer came, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not perform ablution again.
