Chapter: Greed and Its Related Matters – Clarifying that Whoever is Given a Valley of Gold Will Act Like Those Previously Described
Hadith Number: 3235
اخبرنا ابن قتيبة ، قال: حدثنا حرملة ، قال: حدثنا ابن وهب ، قال: اخبرني يونس ، عن ابن شهاب ، عن انس بن مالك ، عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم انه قال: " لو ان لابن آدم واديا من ذهب احب ان يكون له واد آخر، ولا يملا فاه إلا التراب، والله يتوب على من تاب" .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "If a man possesses a valley of gold, he will wish that he had another valley as well. Nothing can fill his mouth except dust, and whoever repents, Allah Almighty accepts his repentance."
