Book of Preemption
ذكر الزجر عن أن يبيع المرء حائطه قبل أن يعرضه على جاره-
Warning against selling one’s wall before offering it to the neighbor
Hadith Number: 5178
اخبرنا عبد الله بن احمد بن موسى ، قال: حدثنا هشام بن عمار ، قال: حدثنا الوليد بن مسلم ، قال: حدثنا ابن جريج ، عن ابي الزبير ، عن جابر ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " الشفعة في كل ربعة او حائط، لا يصلح له ان يبيع حتى يعرض على صاحبه، فإن شاء اخذ، وإن شاء ترك" .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is pre-emption in every land and garden. It is not permissible to sell it until a person offers it to his partner regarding this. If he wishes, he may take it, and if he wishes, he may leave it."
