Abu Hurairah narrated that: The Prophet said: "Leave me as I have left you (Don't ask me the minor things that I have avoided to tell you). For those who came before you were doomed because of their questions and differences with their Prophets. If I commanded you to do something, then do as much of it as you can, and if I forbid you from doing something, then refrain from it."

Benefits and Rulings from Hadith No. 2 in Sunan Ibn Majah
Benefits and Rulings by Maulana Ataullah Sajid โ€“ Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith No. 2

Benefits & Rulings:

(1) In worldly matters, the principle is that every act is permissible unless prohibited by the Qurโ€™an and Hadith. In contrast, in acts of worship, only those practices are permissible which are proven through the Qurโ€™an and Hadith. Therefore, any newly invented practice in religious matters is considered an innovation (bidโ€˜ah), but this does not apply to worldly affairs.

(2) One should avoid arguments and discussions about hypothetical issues that have no practical relevance.

(3) Disobeying the command of the Prophet (peace be upon him) leads to destruction.

(4) If a person is unable to fulfill a religious obligation due to a valid excuse, he is not considered sinful in the sight of Allah. As Allah says: ๏ดฟู„ูŽุง ูŠููƒูŽู„ูู‘ูู ุงู„ู„ู‘ูŽู€ู‡ู ู†ูŽูู’ุณู‹ุง ุฅูู„ู‘ูŽุง ูˆูุณู’ุนูŽู‡ูŽุง๏ดพ (Al-Baqarah: 286) โ€œAllah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity.โ€

(5) It is necessary to completely avoid any act that has been prohibited by the Shariโ€˜ah.
