Benefits and Rulings from Hadith No. 8 in Sunan Ibn Majah
Benefits and Rulings by Maulana Ataullah Sajid – Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith No. 8

Benefits & Rulings:

➊ Hazrat Abu Unabah Khaulani (RA) was an early convert to Islam. He offered prayers facing Bayt al-Maqdis before the command of changing the Qiblah was revealed. Like other companions (RA), he too prayed facing Bayt al-Maqdis for sixteen or seventeen months before turning toward the Kaaba.

➋ The expansion of Islam is not confined to a particular time. In every era, people will continue to leave other religions and enter into Islam, and the Muslim Ummah will continue to benefit from their talents and contributions.

➌ In Islam, no one is granted honor solely because they descend from generations of Muslim ancestors. Instead, every individual earns their place in the Islamic society through their deeds, character, and services to the faith.

➍ In every era and according to the needs of every society, there will always remain room for academic and practical contributions guided by the teachings of the Qur’an and Hadith. Therefore, it is incorrect to assume that a certain field of Islamic service has been fully accomplished and that no further effort is needed. The honor of serving Islam can be granted to a born Muslim as well as to a new convert.
