It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O group of women! Give charity, even if it is from your jewelry, because you are the majority in Hell." A woman—who was not among the prominent women—stood up and said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! What is the reason for this?" He replied: "The reason is that you curse a lot and are very ungrateful and disobedient to your husbands."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a cave when Surah Mursalat was revealed to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and I memorized it as soon as it came from the mouth of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Surah was still fresh on the blessed lips of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I do not remember which verse you (peace and blessings be upon him) finished «﴿فَبِأَيِّ حَدِيثٍ بَعْدَهُ يُؤْمِنُونَ﴾» or «﴿وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ارْكَعُوا لَا يَرْكَعُونَ﴾» when suddenly a snake appeared and quickly entered a hole. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You are saved from its evil and it is saved from your evil."

Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that before going to the land of Abyssinia, in the beginning, we used to greet the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) during prayer (and he would respond to us), but when we returned from Najashi's place and greeted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he did not respond. At this, I began to worry about both distant and near matters. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the prayer, I asked him about this. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Allah does whatever He wills. In this matter, Allah has decided that we should not speak during prayer."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever takes an oath in a matter and thereby unlawfully acquires the wealth of a Muslim, will meet Allah while He is angry with him." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse of the Noble Qur'an before us in support of this: «﴿إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ اللّٰهِ وَأَيْمَانِهِمْ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا أُولَئِكَ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُمْ فِي الْآخِرَةِ وَلَا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ اللّٰهُ﴾ [آل عمران: 77] » "Indeed, those who exchange Allah’s covenant and their oaths for a small price will have no share in the Hereafter, and Allah will not speak to them."

Then Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) recited this verse of the Noble Qur'an in support of this: «﴿سَيُطَوَّقُونَ مَا بَخِلُوا بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ﴾ [آل عمران: 180] » "Soon, that wealth over which they were miserly will be made into a collar around their necks on the Day of Resurrection."
