It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Tha'labah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a gold ring in his hand. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to move his hand with his stick. Meanwhile, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned his attention elsewhere, he took off his ring and threw it away. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked again, the ring was not seen on his finger. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Perhaps we have caused you trouble and made you indebted."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Tha’labah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he submitted in the court of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! We live in the land of the People of the Book, can we cook food in their pots and drink from their utensils? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If you do not find any other utensils except those, then wash them and you may cook food in them. Then I submitted: O Messenger of Allah! We live in a hunting area, what should we do? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you send your trained dog for hunting and you have pronounced the name of Allah upon it, and it kills the prey, then eat it. And if it is not trained, then slaughter the prey and eat it. Similarly, when you shoot an arrow taking the name of Allah, and the arrow kills the prey, then eat that as well.
