أَوَّلُ مُسْنَدِ الْبَصْرِيِّينَ
First Part of Musnad of the Basrans
وَمِنْ حَدِيثِ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
And from the hadith of Samurah ibn Jundub about the Prophet (peace be upon him)
Hadith Number: 20198
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون ، عن ابي امية شيخ له , قال: حدثنا الحسن ، عن سمرة ، قال:" ومن اخصى عبده خصيناه".
Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, from Abu Umayyah, his shaykh, who said: Al-Hasan narrated to us, from Samurah, who said: "And whoever castrates his slave, we will castrate him."

Hadith Number: 20199
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون ، اخبرنا شعبة , وابو داود , اخبرنا هشام ، عن قتادة ، عن الحسن ، عن سمرة بن جندب ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " جار الدار احق بالدار" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The neighbor of the house has more right to the house than others.

Hadith Number: 20200
حدثنا يزيد ، اخبرنا المسعودي ، عن حبيب بن ابي ثابت , والحكم ، عن ميمون بن ابي شبيب ، عن سمرة بن جندب ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " البسوا الثياب البيض، فإنها اطيب واطهر، وكفنوا فيها موتاكم" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Wear white clothes because they are excellent and pure, and shroud your dead in them as well.

حكم دارالسلام: حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد ضعيف، رواية ميمون عن الصحابة منقطعة
Hadith Number: 20201
حدثنا يزيد ، اخبرنا بقية بن الوليد ، عن إسحاق بن ثعلبة ، عن مكحول ، عن سمرة بن جندب ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " لا يتعاطى احدكم من اسير اخيه فيقتله" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No man should take his brother as a captive and then kill him.

حكم دارالسلام: إسناده ضعيف لضعف بقية بن الوليد وإسحاق بن ثعلبة، ومكحول لم يسمع من سمرة
Hadith Number: 20202
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون ، اخبرنا الحجاج بن ارطاة ، عن سعيد بن زيد بن عقبة ، عن ابيه ، عن سمرة بن جندب ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " من اصاب متاعه بعينه، فهو احق به، ويتبع صاحبه من اشتراه منه" , وقال يزيد مرة: من وجد متاعه.
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever sees his own goods with someone, he has a greater right to them, and the buyer will take his price from the seller.

Hadith Number: 20203
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون ، اخبرنا شعبة ، قال: سمعت سوادة القشيري يحدث، عن سمرة بن جندب ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، انه قال: " لا يغرنكم اذان بلال، ولا هذا الفجر المستطيل، ولكن الفجر المستطير" ، واوما بيده هكذا، واشار يزيد بيده اليمنى.
Hazrat Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) once said during a sermon that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not be deceived by Bilal's call to prayer or this whiteness until the true dawn appears. The true dawn is the light that spreads across the horizon in width."

حكم دارالسلام: صحيح الغيره، م: 1094، وهذا إسناد حسن
Hadith Number: 20204
حدثنا يزيد ، اخبرنا حماد بن سلمة ، عن قتادة ، عن الحسن ، عن سمرة بن جندب , عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " من ملك ذا رحم محرم فهو عتيق" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) in a marfu' form that if a person becomes the owner of any of his close relatives, then that relative becomes free.

Hadith Number: 20205
حدثنا إسحاق بن يوسف ، اخبرنا عوف , وهوذة ، حدثنا عوف ، حدثنا شيخ من بكر بن وائل في مجلس قسامة، قال: دخلت على سمرة وهو يحتجم، فقال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم , يقول: " إن من خير دوائكم الحجامة" .
It is narrated from a sheikh of Bakr bin Wa'il that once I went to Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) and he was having cupping done. He said, I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say that the best method of treatment for you is cupping.

Hadith Number: 20206
حدثنا ابو قطن ، حدثنا هشام ، عن قتادة ، عن الحسن ، عن سمرة , ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " إذا انكح الوليان، فهو للاول منهما، وإذا باع بيعا من رجلين، فهو للاول منهما" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a woman’s marriage is contracted by her two guardians at different places, then she will belong to the one who did it first. And whoever buys the same thing from two different men, then it will belong to the one who bought it first.

Hadith Number: 20207
حدثنا روح ، حدثنا سعيد ، عن قتادة ، عن ابي نضرة ، عن سمرة , ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " إن منهم من تاخذه النار إلى ركبتيه، ومنهم من تاخذه النار إلى حجزته، ومنهم من تاخذه النار إلى ترقوته" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Among the people of Hell, there will be some who will be engulfed by the fire up to their ankles, some up to their knees, some up to their hips, and some will be engulfed up to their collarbones.
