It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that Ma'iz bin Malik, who was a short-statured man, was brought before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wearing only a waistcloth, with no other sheet on his body. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting reclining on his left side on a cushion. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke to him about some matters, but I do not know what those matters were because there were people between me and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). After a short while, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Take him away." After some time, he said, "Bring him back." This time, I heard what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Take him away and stone him." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up to deliver a sermon, which I also heard. He said, "Whenever any of our groups goes out in the path of Allah for jihad, and someone lags behind, his voice is like that of a goat. And whoever gives someone even a little milk, by Allah, whoever is able to punish him, I will surely punish him."

It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) muezzin would give the call to prayer (adhan), he would wait for a while and would not say the iqamah until he saw that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had come out. When he saw that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had come out, he would then begin the iqamah.

Aamir bin Sa’d says that I asked Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) about a hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he said: The religion will remain established until there are twelve caliphs from the Quraysh. Then, before the Day of Judgment, some great liars will appear. Then a group of Muslims will emerge and they will extract the white treasure of Kisra and the family of Kisra. And when Allah grants any good to any of you, he should begin with himself and his family. And I will be waiting for you at the Hawd (Pond) of Kawthar.

It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when we used to pray behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), we would gesture with our hands while turning for salam to the right and left. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What is the matter with people that they gesture with their hands like the tails of difficult horses? Can you not remain calm and gesture while keeping your hands on your thighs, and offer salam to your companion on the right and left?"

Someone asked Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) about the white hair of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he replied that there were a few white hairs on the head of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When he applied oil to his head, the whiteness of the hair was not apparent, but when he did not apply oil, their whiteness became evident.

Samaat says that I asked Hazrat Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him), "Did you participate in the gatherings of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)?" He replied, "Yes. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would remain silent most of the time and would laugh little. However, in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the companions would sometimes recite poetry and mention their affairs and laugh, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would also smile."
