Hamzah bin Mughira narrates: I heard my father narrating: I was with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) on a journey. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to me: "O Mughira! You stay behind. O people! You all keep moving." The narrator says: The people kept moving and I stayed behind. The Prophet (peace be upon him) went away to relieve himself. When he (peace be upon him) returned, I poured water for him from a vessel. The Prophet (peace be upon him) was wearing a Roman cloak. He (peace be upon him) tried to take his arm out of it but it was tight, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) took his arm out from below. He washed it. The Prophet (peace be upon him) washed his blessed face and both arms. He wiped his head. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) wiped over both his leather socks. Sufyan says: The narrator named Ismail bin Muhammad told me this. I narrated this tradition to Zuhri, so one day he was narrating traditions about wiping over leather socks. When he finished narrating the traditions he had, he turned to me and said: They have narrated this hadith to me from Hamzah bin Mughira. Then he narrated the tradition I had transmitted and completed it.
