It is narrated from Hazrat Urwah bin Zubair that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked about istinja (cleaning oneself after relieving oneself), so he, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "How is it that none of you finds three stones?"

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went to the graveyard, and said:“Peace be upon you, O people of the believers! And if Allah wills, we shall join you. I wished that I could see my brothers.”So the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Are we not your brothers? He said:“Rather, you are my companions, and my brothers are those who have not yet come into the world, and I will be their forerunner at the Pond of Kawthar on the Day of Resurrection.”Then the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! How will you recognize those people on the Day of Resurrection who will be born in your Ummah after you? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Tell me, if a man has horses with white faces and white feet among pure black horses, will he not recognize his own horses?”The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said: He will recognize them. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“On the Day of Resurrection, my brothers will come, their faces and feet will be shining due to ablution, and I will be their forerunner at the Pond of Kawthar. So let it not be that someone is turned away from my Pond as a stray camel is turned away from its owner. I will call out to them: Come here, come here, come here. It will be said to me: These people changed your Sunnah after you. Then I will say: Away with them, away with them, away with them.”

It is narrated from Hazrat Humran, who was (a freed slave) of Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him), that Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) was sitting on the platform when the muezzin came and informed about the Asr prayer. Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) asked for water and performed ablution, then said: "By Allah! I am narrating to you a hadith, if that hadith were not in the Book of Allah, I would not narrate it. I heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he used to say: 'There is no person who performs ablution well and then offers prayer, except that the sins between that prayer and the next prayer will be forgiven for him, until he offers the next prayer.'"
Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) said that perhaps Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) meant this verse: «﴿وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ ذَلِكَ ذِكْرَى لِلذَّاكِرِينَ﴾» .

It is narrated from Abdullah al-Sanabahi that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When a believing servant begins ablution and rinses his mouth, the sins exit from his mouth. Then when he washes his face, the sins exit from his face, until they exit from the places where the eyelashes grow, that is, from the eyelids. Then when he wipes his head, the sins exit from his head, until they exit from his two ears. Then when he washes his feet, the sins exit from his two feet, until they exit from the nails of his two feet. Then his walking towards the mosque, and the prayer, are separate—that is, their reward is distinct."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a Muslim servant begins ablution – or a believer – then washes his face, the sins that his eyes committed by looking are washed away from his face with the water, or with the last drop of water. Then when he washes his hands, the sins that his hands committed by touching are washed away from his hands with the water, or with the last drop of water. Then when he washes his feet, the sins that his feet committed by walking are washed away with the water, or with the last drop of water. Until he comes out purified from sins."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, when the time of Asr was near. The people searched for water for ablution but did not find any, and a vessel containing water was brought to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. He placed his hand in that vessel and ordered the people to perform ablution. Sayyiduna Anas, may Allah be pleased with him, says that I saw water gushing forth from beneath the fingers of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. Then the people performed ablution until even the last of them had performed ablution.

Hazrat Naeem bin Abdullah heard from Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him), who used to say: Whoever performs ablution well, then goes out with the intention of prayer, then he is as if he is in prayer as long as he intends the prayer. For every step, a good deed is written, and for the other step, a bad deed is erased. So if any of you hears the takbeer of prayer, he should not run, because greater reward is for the one whose house is farther away. They said: Why, O Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him)? He said: Because his steps will be more.

And among all deeds, the best for you is prayer, and none will maintain ablution except a believer."
