Hazrat Abu Bakr bin Abdur Rahman says that profit is accompanied by liability.

Hazrat Shurayh (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked if a person returns a slave due to illness? He replied that he may return him; the benefit derived from him will be for him only. (There is no guarantee, etc.)

It is narrated from Ibn Aun that a man bought a slave, then rented him out and earned profit. Then another person claimed ownership of the slave. Both of them, disputing, came to Hazrat Iyas bin Muawiyah. The other person was found to be entitled to the slave, so he (Iyas bin Muawiyah) ruled in his favor regarding the slave and its profits. The narrator says that I mentioned this decision to Hazrat Muhammad bin Sirin, and he said, "He is wise; he ruled according to what he understood to be correct."

22489 - He said: I mentioned that to Muhammad ibn Sirin, and he said: It is understanding.

Hasan says regarding the person who buys a slave, then becomes aware of a defect, and he has already benefited by renting out that slave; he said that the profit will be for the buyer.

Hazrat Hammad says that the profit that has been gained will be for the buyer, but along with liability.

It is narrated from Hazrat Harith Akli that a person bought a house and then rented it out and earned profit from it. Then another person turned out to be its rightful owner. The Prophet said: I will not impose any guarantee on him for benefiting from it.

It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) decreed that revenue is with liability.

Ibrahim says that benefit is accompanied by liability.

It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid bin Abu Habib that a man sold his son's house; his father was of unsound mind. The son came to Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz, so he annulled the sale and ruled in favor of the son regarding the house. The son asked, "What about its rent?" Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz replied that its benefit will be with guarantee.
