Narrations Mentioned Regarding the Virtue of the People of Kufa

٣٤٦٣٠ - حدثنا وكيع قال: ثنا مسعر عن الركين بن الربيع عن ابيه قال: قال حذيفة: ما (١) إخبية بعد إخبية كانت مع النبي ﷺ ببدر يدفع عنها ما يدفع عن هذه -يعني الكوفة (٢).
ريفرينس و تحكيم الحدیث:
(١) في [هـ]: زيادة (من).
(٢) صحيح؛ أخرجه أحمد (٢٣٣٢٢)، وابن سعد ٦/ ٦، والبزار (٢٩٤٤)، والطبراني في الأوسط (٣٠٥٢).
Hazrat Rabi’ (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: After the houses of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the Companions of Badr, there is no house whose virtue is greater than that of Kufa.

٣٤٦٣١ - حدثنا وكيع قال: ثنا شريك عن عبد الله بن شريك عن جندب عن سلمان قال: الكوفة قبة الإسلام، ياتي على الناس زمان لا يبقى فيها مؤمن إلا بها او قلبه يهوي إليها (١).
ريفرينس و تحكيم الحدیث:
(١) حسن؛ شريك صدوق، وكذلك عبد اللَّه بن شريك.
Hazrat Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Hazrat Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Kufa is the tent of Islam. A time will come upon the people when no believer will remain except that he will gather in it or his heart will desire to gather in it.

٣٤٦٣٢ - حدثنا ابن إدريس عن شعبة عن ابي رجاء قال: سالت الحسن اهل الكوفة اشرف او اهل البصرة؟ قال: كان (١) يبدا باهل الكوفة.

(١) في [هـ]: زيادة (عمر).
Hazrat Abu Raja (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I asked Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him): Are the people of Kufa more noble or the people of Basra? He (may Allah have mercy on him) replied: In the beginning, it used to start with Kufa.

٣٤٦٣٣ - حدثنا يعلى بن عبيد عن الاجلح عن عمار عن سالم بن ابي الجعد عن عبد الله بن (عمرو) (١) قال: يا اهل الكوفة انتم اسعد الناس بالمهدي (٢).
ريفرينس و تحكيم الحدیث:
(١) في النسخ: (عمر)، وسيأتي أنه ابن عمرو في آخر المصنف، ١٥/ ١٩٧ برقم [٤٠٤٣٧] وهكذا رواه ابن سعد ٦/ ١٠، والداني في السنن الواردة في الفتن (٥٧٨).
(٢) حسن؛ الأجلح صدوق.
Hazrat Salim bin Abi Al-Ja'd (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O people of Kufa! Among all people, you are the most fortunate in terms of being rightly guided.

٣٤٦٣٤ - حدثنا عفان قال: ثنا حماد بن سلمة قال: اخبرنا عطاء بن السائب عن ابيه عن عبد الله بن عمرو قال: قال لي: ممن انت؟ فقلت: من اهل الكوفة، فقال: والذي نفسي بيده ليسافر منها إلى ارض العرب، لا يملكون قفيزا، ولا درهما ثم لا ينجيكم (١).

(١) ضعيف؛ عطاء ضعيف.
Hazrat Ibn Saib (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) asked me: "Where are you from?" I replied: "I am from the people of Kufa." Upon this, he (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "By the One in whose hand is my soul, they have traveled to such a land of the Arabs where you will neither possess a single qafeez nor a single dirham. And you will not attain salvation either."
