Narrations Reported Regarding Basrah

٣٤٦٣٥ - حدثنا وكيع عن عبد ربه بن ابي راشد قال: سمعت ابن عمر يقول: البصرة خير من الكوفة (١).
ريفرينس و تحكيم الحدیث:
(١) صحيح.
Hazrat Abdur-Rabah bin Abu Rashid (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Basra is better than Kufa.

٣٤٦٣٦ - حدثنا عفان قال: ثنا سليمان بن المغيرة عن ثابت عن عبد الرحمن بن ابي ليلى قال: طفت الامصار فما رايت مصرا اكبر متهجدا من اهل البصرة.
Hazrat Thabit (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I have traveled to many cities, but I have not seen any city with more people performing Tahajjud than Basra.

٣٤٦٣٧ - حدثنا ابو اسامة عن سفيان قال: ثنا إبراهيم بن محمد بن المنتشر عن ابيه (قال) (١): قال حذيفة: إن اهل البصرة لا يفتحون باب هدى، ولا (ينزلون) (٢) باب ضلالة، وان الطوفان قد رفع عن الارض كلها إلا البصرة (٣).
ريفرينس و تحكيم الحدیث:
(١) سقط من: [ط، هـ].
(٢) في [ب، س، ع]: (يتركون)، وهو كذلك في كنز العمال ١١/ ٢٨١، والعقد الفريد ٦/ ٢٦٦: (يغلقون).
(٣) صحيح.
Hazrat Muhammad bin Muntashir (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Surely, the people of Basra neither open the door of guidance nor leave the door of misguidance and deviation, and indeed the storm has moved away from all the people of the earth except Basra.

٣٤٦٣٨ - حدثنا ابو معاوية عن عاصم عن ابي عثمان قال: جاء رجل إلى حذيفة فقال: إني اريد الخروج إلى البصرة، فقال: لا تخرج إليها، قال: إن لي بها قرابة، قال: لا تخرج، قال: لا بد من الخروج، فانزل عدوتها ولا تنزل سربها (١).

(١) صحيح؛ والعدوة المكان الظاهر، والسرب المسلك في خفية، وسيكرر في كتاب الفتن ١٥/ ١١٥ برقم [٤٠١٩٨]، وفي بعض النسخ هناك: (سرتها).
Hazrat Abu Uthman (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that a man came to Hazrat Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: I intend to go to Basra. So he (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Do not go. The man said: Indeed, my close relatives are there. He (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Do not go. The man said: It is necessary for me to go. He (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Then stay at its outskirts, do not settle in its midst.
