It is narrated from Muhammad that whenever Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) would wake up at night, he would perform prayer.

It is narrated from Maymun who says that it was said to Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them): Zaid bin Thabit has passed away and he left behind one hundred thousand dirhams. He (may Allah be pleased with him) said: But you should not leave behind one hundred thousand dirhams.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) recited this verse: { أَلَمْ یَأْنِ لِلَّذِینَ آمَنُوا أَنْ تَخْشَعَ قُلُوبُہُمْ لِذِکْرِ اللہِ } and began to weep.

It is narrated about Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) that he was traveling on the road to Makkah when he lowered the head of his mount and said: Perhaps the track may coincide with the track, meaning the track of the mount of the Noble Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).

It is narrated from Hazrat Adam bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I heard Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) say: Oppose the ways of the polytheists.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding { فَوَرَبِّکَ لَنَسْأَلَنَّہُمْ أَجْمَعِینَ } that there will be a question about La ilaha illallah.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding { وَإِذَا وَقَعَ الْقَوْلُ عَلَیْہِمْ أَخْرَجْنَا لَہُمْ دَابَّۃً مِنَ الأَرْضِ تکلمہم }: When people will not enjoin good and will not forbid evil.

It is narrated from Hazrat Nafi‘ that Hazrat Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to dislike speaking while reciting (the Qur’an)… or he said… they would not speak about their intended matter until they had finished… or he said… they would not speak until they had finished. But one day, when I was sitting with him with the Mushaf and he was reciting, he reached a verse and said:“Do you know about whom this verse was revealed?”

It is narrated from Maymun that he says: Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), along with some of his companions, went to visit Abdullah bin Amir when he was ill, and people thought that he would die. So the people said to him: "Glad tidings to you, for you have constructed many reservoirs at Arafat from which the pilgrims to the House of Allah drink their fill, and you have dug wells in the wilderness." The narrator says that the people mentioned many good deeds. The narrator says that then the people began to say: "InshaAllah, we hope for good for you." Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) remained silent. Then later, when he spoke, it was said: "O Abu Abdur Rahman, what do you say?" He (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: "When the earnings are pure, the spending is good. Soon you will arrive, and then you will know."
